I would like to know if anyone knows where to get a cast-net around central texas without having to order it off-line. I ordered one off line about 3 weeks ago it was my first net so I am still learning I got a big rip in it and fixed it with some monofilament went out this afternoon and used it on a local creek to catch some perch and completely shredded it. I went to Academy and Wally world but they didnt have any I know Academy used to stock a bunch of them but they dont carry them anymore if anybody knows where I can get one around central texas area it would be much appreciated. I would like to get one before this weekend but cant find one locally, I might just have to order one again if all else fails.

Wally world does carry them - that's where I got mine. They are Frabill branded and come packaged in what looks like a small clear tacklebox looking container. Some Walmarts have that super spreader one with that blue ring for those that can't throw a net too. But, these are just basic mono nets, and the biggest they have are 6 footers - no nylons or 15 footers there. Academy has a ton of castnets here, and they put them on sale all the time. I heard you have to order the "good" ones online. Try Dick's Sporting Goods too. Good luck!

7 feet radius is max legal cast net in Texas.
Started out with nothing and still have most of it left.
