We were out on 7/30/09 and had a huge one make a run at the boat, he came off the bank and made a bee-line over to us. Of course I flooded the motor and couldn't get it started until it was was about 30' away and still coming at us hissing and barking. I lived in Florida for 10 years and saw 1000's of gators, and not one ever was this brash even during mating season. But they don't get to be 18-20' long there like this one was. If it had gotten any closer he was about to take one between the eyes. I am sure it would have bounced of this monster, but I think it would have gotten the point. Thought I was fishing while they were filming that movie Lake Placid for a while. I am thinking this gator need to be removed from the lake, I however will not be the one doing it.. too big for me to mess with

Yea, there are some real big ones at choke. Several over 14 feet, and two that are close to 18 ft! I wouldnt jump in after any lures!
They get that big because nobody has the chance to shoot them off at choke cause it is protected land with no houses!
