Sand bass have been busting the top of the water every morning lately. We have been catching good numbers up to 18".

Hope they keep busting up, I will be on Lavon this Saturday.

We couldn't find the bigger sandies on Sunday like we did 2 weeks earlier. Just the occassional good one mixed in w/ a LOT of small ones. Still non-stop action is fun. Where are those Stripers? 3-4 straight trips w/out one.

I have never fished Lavon but I would love to get my 5 year old son into some sandies. Where at in the lake are they schooling? Thanks.

Northwest of the dam to south of the island. I've seen them start just north of the dam at 730 and end towards the west and south of the island around 1030. Rooster tails work great, my kids quit fishing after two hours, said they were bored with catching to many.

Use a slab and let it fall until you feel a hit, thin bring it in at that level. You will catch the big ones deeper. Sometimes you will find striper under the sand bass.

Each time out I've been trying bigger baits (sassies, smacks, & bigger slabs) underneath & to the outside of these schools trying to hook one of those stripers but they are not present or just not interested. We'll keep trying.
