Went to the mud bowl today, just fished under the bridge, was in no mood to put up with the sun. Wind kept us cool a while, until we got off the water, then the heat hit us. 
Usually I can bring home quite a few even from Bardwell but today was really tough. Ended up with 12 to take to the knife but released well over 50 9.5"-10.5". Kept busy with the dinks I will say that.
Met some TFF friends I had not met before, that was nice. I was just leaving the courtesy dock when someone called out... "RedTopLady". I answered... you got it! He asked me if I was headed for the bridge and I said, see you there. We fished each column from one side to the other. Had some small Bass mixed in and Bream and the cutiest channel cat about 6" long.
Was a good day but would have liked the Crappie to have been of greater size for sure. 
Did the mileage the last few trips, thought Bardwell was way closer than Cedar Creek from me, found out today it's only 15 miles farther to Cedar Creek. Sorry Bardwell, guess you lost out again!

If Bardwell is only 15 miles closer than CC I need to know what route you take to CC!!

Sounds like you would have had your limit if you'd a kept your 10.5's. Ya stay off my little lake I'm raising all those dinks for the future! Good job Gloria.

OBTW 15mi.x's 2 =30 thats 2 1/2 gallons of gas @2.50 =$6.25 = almost a 6 pack of MGD!

Bardwell....Home of The Dink! I've gone the 85 route from Red Oak but I still think it's further to CC by more than 15 miles....

Bardwell....Home of The Dink! I've gone the 85 route from Red Oak but I still think it's further to CC by more than 15 miles.... Well, I used my trip counter going to Cedar Creek, used my trip counter going to Bardwell and the difference is 15 miles. How do you go from Red Oak to get to 85? I will check again next time I go to make sure I did not make a mistake. Still, I would rather go to Cedar Creek no matter what the difference.

Me and my friend saw you and the Silver Fox out on Bardwell. It was good talking to y'all. We ended up with 7 keepers but caught about 50. We were out on Cedar Creek on Thursday and got to keep 23 out of 50 caught. Would like to take you up on that troll motor lesson sometimes. Although I must agree that CC has better numbers and size I cut my teeth on Bardwell and it will always have a place in my heart.
