I've been looking at a lot of different rods lately and have noticed the nicer ones are one pieces. I have hassle trying to tote my 6'6 one piece rod around in my car so anything larger than that would be just about impossible to tote around.
Are there any types of racks or mounts that could make this whole process easier ?

Just stick them in the passenger window to the floorboard angled out towards the back of the car.
If you have many of them, tie a rag strip around them about a foot from the end.
We used to carry 25 foot cane poles like this all the time.....but of course I had a 1956 red and white Buick at the time.
It will work for the small cars also.

Just close the door on 'em. Then they'll fit just fine.

If you carry 1 piece rods in a car long enough, they'll be converted to 2 piece for you.

JUST KIDDING. We had a similar problem a few years back on a road trip. We wanted to take a buddy's Honda Accord for the gas mileage but there was no room for our fishing rods. We got a yakima ski rack for the roof and attached pvc pipe with the rods inside to the roof rack. We had to take the reels off but it worked for our purpose. Good luck.

7' one piece rods will fit in that car easily. I have carried three at one time in my wife's 92 LeSabre, along with 3-4 6' rods when we have went to fish at a friends stock tank.
I'm just in search of a way of not coming home smelling like the devils armpit.....

how about getting a luggage rack and putting on some rod holders. then you could just strap them down somehow and they would be ontop of the car and out of the way. Im sure you could get a luggage rack fairly cheap, and make some rod holders out of pvc, kinda like the ones center console guys use. Then you could probaly use a small bungee or two to go around the rod just above the reel, and around the luggage rack. might put on on the other end too, to keep them from bouncing so much.

Easy. In the right window and out the left window. Sure. What could go wrong? Piece of cake.
Started out with nothing and still have most of it left.
For the rich there is therapy; for the rest of us there is fishing.
