Headed to the coast in 2 more days for my birthday....We are taking my boat again, only the second time we have taken it. I just hope the weather holds up for us. We only get to go a few times a year

Be safe and Tight Lines!!! They calling for this High Pressure system that's been sittin over Texas to start pulling some rain in from the East & Southeast this weekend. Good luck hope you catch a slew of fish. They should turn on if the pressure starts changing.

It was a good trip, for the most part. We had some vicious storms move in on us, and had to make a mad dash back to the marina. We caught quite a few sharks, several really nice specs, one of which was about 28 inches, nice gaftops, lots of sand trout, a stingray, etc....
I did have one fish run like hell, couldn't hardly slow him down with my calcutta 400, then popped my 65 lb power pro braid. It was exciting to say the least. I did learn one thing on the trip, I will not buy any more bass pro shop brand treble hooks, they straighten out too easy, or maybe I just overloaded them...
The highlight of the trip was saturday, just as a storm was moving in, I finaly got my bull red. 33 inches long. I got him on the boat just as the storm hit, then hauled butt back to the yacht club. We waited about an hour, the weather cleared up, so we decided to go back out. We went back to the same spot I had caught my red, and fished a while. My girlfreind caught a good sized lady fish. It was pretty cool, talk about an acrobatic fish. I baited up another of my calcuttas with a big croaker head and had another hookup immediately. Another bull red, 35 inches......Needless to say, I can't wait to go back down there. I will post pictures as soon as I can
