Hire as many guides as you can and fish as much as you can. Read some books too.

Concentrate on a jig, a deep crankbait and a dropshot. If you master one of those and become proficient with the other two you will be a force to recon with. It might help if you can find fish as well.

experiment with fishing away from the bank. try a drop-off or ledge or creek channel somewhere.

Fish with as many different people as you can. I've learned most of my stuff from others. +1

Time on the water and fish with someone that is willing to teach you. Join a small club and fish as a co-angler. When you want to learn a little bit more, start fishing the BASS Weekend Series or FLW - BFL series.

Learn to fish a Shakey Head finesse worm. It will catch fish when some other techniques might not work and will catch fish that are highly pressured. Also a Senko either weightless Texas Rig or Wacky Rigged can catch them when the bite is tough. If you have the time and the money fishing co-angler on the FLW Tour or FLW Series will get you time on the water with Professionals that show you how to fish effectivly on the clock. Read and study anything you can about fish behavior and seasonal patterns. Learn as many different techniques as you can, and Have Fun!

Join a club, prefish all the tournaments & hire guides. Start with the easiest baits to catch fish like spinner baits and wacky worms gain confidence then expand your arsenol.
