Me and my buddy fished Stillhouse this past Sunday, tough bite. I did not see any big weights like I have read about on the forum. I zeroed, my buddy caught 1. His keeper had a huge head, super skinny body, very sickly looking. Did anyone have any success this past weekend on Stillhouse ?

Fished Saturday from 6 to 1, it was tough. Missed the few bites we did get. Bite was soft, or not existent. Hopefully next trip will produce better. Good Luck

We fished from 8pm Saturday to 8am Sunday for our annual marathon night tournament and it was tough for everyone. Big bass was just over 4lbs. and it only took a little over 8 lbs. team total for the win. We did catch several short fish all night.
The scary part was when the ABA guys took off on Sunday morning way before save light. Everyone one I saw but for one was running with lights on at full speed. Boats were flying down the lake at full speed and I felt sorry for the guys out on the point in front of the island and out on Church hump area because they were coming at you at full speed dodging everyone.
If I didn't know I would have thought it was a shotgun start like we used to have years ago.
I guess the ABA guys ignore the save light take off as all of the other tournaments trails follow. I was glad I was in the deep timber and had some trees between me and them. That take off time will only last until someone gets hurt. It was all settled down within a few minutes with everyone bunched together on the same community holes.

I junior club in Copperas Cove had a tournament out there on Sunday. I caught two keepers early in the morning and then the bite really slowed. I had decided to bypass the community holes that get pounded all day long everyday. Big bass in our tournament went 7.21. It was tough, but they weren't uncatchable. Some nice bass brought in. My big bass was just over 3.

Man you could not be more wrong! Every one of our boaters had lights on there boats and were on. If you seen a boat that did not have there lights on they were not with the ABA. There were several clubs and tournaments that day on the lake, so I don't know how you could say it was the ABA. And it was not a shotgun start, it was a number start.

We fished Saturday from 4:00 pm til 9:00 pm. I only fished the church hump and we only caught 6 fish alltogether. None were big but they were healthy. I did have one break me off on a Storms swimbait in about 22' deep water. Probably would have been a good one.

I'm sure you are probably right about no ABA member running without lights. Its strange that he was in the middle of the pack. Maybe he was just trying to get out of the way. I too know it was not a shotgun start but it just reminded me the way it use be like years ago.
Everybody going as fast as you can.
Why so early of a take off? Is that a good safe practice in a large tournament knowing that others might be out there because of the moon phase and daytime temperatures.
I'm sure you was running at a very safe speed and did not crowd anyone.

THERE WAS ENOUGH LIGHT TO SEE. AND IF THERE WAS A BOAT OUT THERE THAT DID NOT HAVE THERE LIGHTS ON AND WAS FISHING WHILE WE WERE STARTING THE TOURNAMENT THEY WERE WRONG. YOUR BOAT LIGHTS SHOULD BE ON TILL THE SUN RISES. YA WE WERE FAST BUT NOT RECKLESS. I CAN'T SPEAK FOR THE OTHER TOURNAMENTS THAT WERE ON THE LAKE THAT DAY. THERE IS ALWAYS THAT ONE GUY THOUGH THAT MESSES IT UP FOR EVERYONE.
WE HAD ABOUT 34 POUNDS AND SOME CHANGE ON SAT BUT ON SUNDAY I ZEROED AND BY BUDDY GOT ONE 9LB. THE BITE WAS VERY SOFT BOTH DAYS FOR THE BIG FISH THOUGH THE SMALLER ONES THAT WEIGHED 4 OR LESS HIT IT OK. SOME OF THE FISH DID LOOK LIKE BAD.

I fished Belton Saturday, I guess it must have been something in the weather or something because it was rough too. A little over 8 lbs. won our tournament. My partner did catch a 5.9 about dark. It was really skinny too as was my giant 1.6 keeper.

I fish Stillhouse 2 or 3 days a week and have been noticing some very skinny fish. I kept one 16 incher on Saturday evening and took him home to inspect. Stomach completely plugged with large "Ringer" type of plastic worm. Fish was starving to death. I did this because a friend of mine said one that he caught had 3 plastic baits plugged in his digestive tract.

Awares, I am the Director for the ABA in Central Texas. Safe Light is when you can see the Opposite Shoreline, I am 100% positive NO ABA boat was lauched prior to me seeing the shoreline at Dana Peak Park from Rivers bend. If you seen or had a problem with one of the members of ABA please send me an email with details and I will address it. Safe Boating should be at the top of everyones priority. It's at the top of mine.
