I fished for a few hours on Ray Roberts Saturday afternoon. I didn't find the crappie in the shallows. I think it is still too cool after the recent big rains and water level rise. I showed a temp of 57 degrees on the southwest ens of the lake.
Anyone else have any news about Ray Roberts crappie? How about Grapevine and lewisville?

I spent a few hours up at the Pay-To-Fish-Dock at Ray Roberts Marina again today. About 3 p.m. all that we could muster were the little 4-6" dinks on minnows.
Another angler came along about 2:30 and caught a few of the small dinks on Chatreuse Tiny Bass Assasins. My standard GO TO jigs didn't receive a bump.
Look at some of Jason Smarts posts. He's been doing fairly well or so it seems, while on the water. You might have to scroll down or go to the next page or two but the info. is there for you to read.
Saturday evening, I ran into a couple who we fished with the week prior. They talked to a man who was fishing the rip-rap creek channel bend up on 922, heading east from Valley View, TX. The water up north looks skinny and was definitely off-colored to where you couldn't see a jig mere inches from the surface.
That's the best I can do but maybe some of the boaters will give you a more enlightening or fruitful report.
Personally, I'm heavily considering venturing over to Benbrook this weekend to fish the Barge over there, recent posts about it are wetting my appetite for new frontiers at the moment till I decide to jump behind the wheel of a boat.

Adding a couple more comments based on today's excursions to RayBob.
Took the Valley View 922 Exit, headed East, stopped at the first little creek to the right where you'll generally find a few vehicles parked by the guard rail. Noticed two older gents wearing waders, dawning jiggin poles who jig fished the little creek. They had a stringer of about 15 crappie (maybe 20) of really good size. All the water in these locations is heavily stained water. Much of it is still very shallow, meaning inches not feet.
Ventured further Eastward till I crossed the bridge and immediately took the first left. A few gents were fishing the rip rap. Last weekend it was noted that some nice fish were caught in that location. I fished about 50 yards from them without a single bite today. Again, the water is relatively shallow and a bit off-colored.
Later I headed South on I-35 to Lone Oak Road (3002). I wanted to see what the lake looked like and whether or not there was any fishing access. Crossed the first bridge and went to the second bridge. Some really nice timber on the West and East banks. Unfortunately, too many signs that said NO PARKING. Didn't want to take a chance today of having the vehicle towed in those locations. Seems many times when folks find a easily accessible location, the Corp or the Parks say NO PARKING! It isn't as if RayBob has an immense number of locations of easy access for the bank angler. I must say the water clarity in this area was very good. I would have loved to fish the areas around the second bridge because of the amount of timber, possible depth of water and proximity to the bank.
Headed South to Sanger(455) around 2 pm and I ran into a gent who almost had his limit. His fish were coming out of 12 feet of water, a couple of cranks off the bottom while fishing minnows. It appears to that the bite is fairly early in the a.m.
Not alot of information but hopefully it adds to the mix and allows you to make some choices of where to spend your time fishing.

We fished about 5 hours 2 Wed. ago and didn't do too much. Left Johnson park after an hour as it was very shallow. Went to Buck creek an dcaught a nice 1.75 lb crappie and kept 3 others. Total of 12 fish. Heard they were doing pretty good back in the creeks at Buck creek but that was before the rain.
