I dont know the lake real well but look forward to my July 4th retreat down to Lake Brownwood so I can fish?
I'm probably going to chase sandies and hybrids mostly but I do like spending some time with the crappie at Thuderbird Bays dock. When the sun goes down the shad move under the lights and I catch them by using a minnow or a jig under a bobber from afar. its only 11 feet deep.
Call me if your down that weekend and lets fish.
Anyone else going to Bwood on the 4th?

My wife, kids and I have been catching crappie, whites, and LMB under the lights on the docks around the peninsula at the dam and McCartney island. Not loading the boat but catching enough to keep the kids interested With school out for both of us we plan on being out there as much as possible.

Find Brush in 18-20 foot of water, and fish them on the bottom about three cranks up. I have been Slaying them me and my cousin have been the last three weeks and each trip during the week we catch between 40 an 60 and we clean about 25 to 30 of them. have fun and be careful out there this weekend it was choppy and crowded this past weekend lots of luck!!!!!!

Hal Dodd, Lake Rat, or MSanders - if you see a old bomber style black and blue bass boat or a pontoon with a maroon top stop and say hi - most likely will be out after dark - less boat traffic to deal with and a whole lot cooler. Be safe! Good luck!
