I fished it last year blind for the first time on the way bcak from Amistad, and caught some really good fish. Wacky/rigs and shakey head with june bug worked really good with that water color. Fished in a couple of pockets by the dam area. I would go back given the chance.

fish the hydrilla edges, I've had good success flipping a green pumpkin tube around the hydrilla edges and salt cedars close to the hydrilla. Sweet Beavers and chigger craws usually do well on HC but the tube has out produced them for me lately. Other productive colors on HC are watermelon red, watermelon candy, blue fleck power worm, cali 420 sweet beaver, watermelon chartrues. I've done well the last couple of trips on 6-8ft with the tubes. Good luck.

This is my favorite lake to fish. There's hardly any traffic (fishing, skiing, or otherwise) and there's some monsters.

In this heat, I would try fishing the rock face on the North side of the damn. If there's not too much wind, I'll throw a weightless (lemon/green) senko and a texas rigged fire & ice if it's windy. If you're hunting a hog throw a 10-12 incher. When you get to a channel, fish around the corner a ways and then cross to some nice stumps. Fish them slow and methodlically. If none of that works, take those same baits across to the other side of the lake and look for hydrilla and salt cedars. Often times, fish will be situated on small reed patches in the sea of salt cedars.

Hope that helps.
