I live in between these two lakes and have a friend coming down this weekend. Which would be better to catch a few cats on jugs. Also where on the lake and what bait. Thanks for any info.

Texoma by far would have the better quality fish .. This time of year I would probably set them out in the flats in 10-20 foot of water .. No deeper because of the thermocline.. Also if you get a chance night time drift fishing is producing some bigger fish for us lately in the same areas.. Use big cut pieces of shad and live perch..

texoma! I dunno about this thermocline business....I catch blues in 80+ feet of water this time of year in the old river channel! try different depths and dont be afraid to use big bait! The thermocline is the break in oxygen levels in a lake as the water heats up in the summer.. It can very in depths just depends on the water temp.. Usually u will be able to see it on your electronics.. Fish will suspend at the break .. Any thing below that break is lower in oxygen so the fish stay above it.. 80 ft deep in the summer huh? You must be fishing cooler waters then.. Many jugliners will drop jugs in deeper water in the dead of summer only to return to find dead fish on their jugs.. The fish can swim down and get the bait but once they are hooked in that deeper water they suffocate because they are not able to get back up past the thermocline.. Hope that helps
