Just moved out to north fortworth area about two years ago. got a new house and grapevine is now the closest. i have only ben to grapevine a couple of times and had pretty good luck but today was different than the others.

Went out today and got on the water about 5:30 and noticed there was alot of people on the water for being a tuesday. First hit the rock crusher to hopefully find fish didnt find anything. Then went to the island looking for schooling activity still didnt find anything, and the dam was the same. we headed back to the island and saw a little activity finally but nothing would bite. is this usual for this time of year?

Nope...usually you could throw in a bare hook and get a bite this time of year at sunrise and sunset. I blame the 2007 flood for the apparently low numbers this year. I'm sure someone will chime in say they slaughtered them. Maybe I am just in the wrong place at the wrong time. I have switched my primary concentration on to catfishing it is so bad this year.

It has been a hit or miss year so far on G.V. and all those places named and others have me scratching my head too.

I hit the vine early Sun. A.M. in the on and off rain. Got on a good bite around 8:30ish while it was raining. Had to top up and tried to stay dry, got about 5 good sized keepers in about 30min and thought it was gonna be a great day. When the rain died off, so did the bite. Didn't catch another fish till we called it quits around noon. Ended up throwing back all that were caught. bang

Am I the only one that has noticed that some of the fish just do not look good, some seem to be diseased.

I caught a fish at the bubbles that looked diseased about two weeks ago.
