There both good rigs for many different reasons and where your at and what depth and what your fishing for.I use my texas rig down to 15 ft and out a good distance from the bank all the way to up to a 1/2 foot from the bank.Then I go to carolina rig or what ever im comforable with. But both have there purpose's.

Texas rig, just fits my style of fishing more. I can work it on the bottom or start flippin/pitchin with it in the brush. I just haven't become a bottom dragger yet.

Texas rig. Feel like it's more versitile and effective in and out of cover. Plus I use it alot for pitching.
It's different for every angler though. Depends on the situation.

Well I am pretty new to Bass fishing (started about 3 or 4 weeks ago) so I don't get the whole pitching and flipping yet... Seen lots of folks do it, but I havent quite gotten the hang of it quite yet

HookEm, get out and start pitchin. I've probably caught 75% of my fish this year since I started. Right now it is hard for me to do anything else I enjoy it so much. I've caught consistent 5-6 pounders this year on most outings. I still crank out the flukes and spooks when the time arises.

I just read an article, and went into my back yard and practiced pitching about 10-15 yards under my diving board. Doesnt seem so hard now that i tried it a few times, but definatly something i need to master....
