where are you going and what style are you fishing?? Top water? down low? Deep? I am headed to Texoma this weekend and will be using rattle traps and big eyes, I might even try to throw a big spinner bait only because I hear the top water action is great right now

I usually got to texoma, but i am plaining on buying a boat, and I usually fish from the bank and drag for my bait. I just want to get right into the action instead of waiting on the bank for the fish to bite. I've never really use lures so this is new to me.

Top water for schooling fish but your bigger ones will be under the top water action and slabs, most any kind of slabs work's. I use white yellow and chartresuse

All of those are great! I like to use a big Chartresuse Top water. SSS Slabs and Humdingers also work GREAT for going deeper. Good luck!

For Texoma burning slabs such as Moe's fiesta slab is the ticket right now. You asked an open ended question and there are a lot of factors that determine the best lure. What lake?, where on the lake, what time of day?, what day?, what are the conditions? A couple weeks ago on Texoma NO lure was doing the job, it was shad or nothing. Now it has turned the other direction, lures are good, shad is bad. But it can change as quick as the weather. That is why these forums are so helpful. Read the reports on a daily basis and it will increase your odds of a sucessful day.
