how exactly does that hourly deal work? I read that you may only have 3 fish in possession, but you may only weigh one fish per hour??? So you must leave your spot and return to the weigh in station every hour??
excuse my ignorance as I've never entered a catfish tournament, but i was thinking of trying this one. It sounds fun!

What you said is right. If you have a catfish that may win you some money (the reason you got in the tournament, right?) then you have to leave your spot and head in to have it weighed.
This is the same as every other tournament that goes on using the hourly payouts. Which is how all of the hourly bass tournaments work.

I'd fish it if it wasn't for 2 things...
1. Individual tournament. I've never fished a cat tournament that wasn't a team event.
2. Who has a cat tournament in the middle of july? There most likely wont be any big fish caught, and no cat angler likes to catch a bunch of small fish, at least none that i know anyways.

This catfish tournament is a blast! it is my favorite tournament of the year. Lake fork is very differnt than any other lake. Yall should enter and i bet yall will have fun.

usually it takes at least a 8 to 10 lb fish to get in the money.
while that may seem small to some catfish hunters this is strictly rod and reel and in the daytime.
and if that still seems small to you perhaps you need to come down and win your share.

Team Catfish is gonna be there and we are happy to be fishing for cats under 10 lbs! I think the smaller fish level the playing field and give everyone a chance at some mula!  The event sure looked like fun last year! We just worked/sold products/Secret 7 last year but I might fish a little this year with a few of the anglers that are already entered! Nothing serious, just good times! We have plans to arrive on Thursday night..........

I am the same way. I was planning on driving my boat to the dock and running over to the bucket in my truck. I guess I will go the first time in my boat and then drive the rest of the time. I guess if my partner is in the boat with me the first time then he does not have to come with me the rest of the time if we get a couple for hourly prizes? Thanks Steve

The rule states "All Contestants shall be required to bring their boat and respective partner(s) with them to the weigh in site when weighing in catfish." If you do not do so, the fish may not be counted. If I had a good hourly or possible Tournament-winning fish, I wouldn't take a risk.
