Fished Lake Fork this weekend...boy was it hot (the weather, not the fishing). Caught a few early and late in the day but was never able to get it going deep. Also tried a little night fishing while watching fireworks on Sat night. Stayed in a small room at the Big Mouth Lodge. Here are a few pics:

nice shots

Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach

Friday at Fork was hotter than HE**, all I wanted was to find a cool spot! Saturday morning was nice though, wind blowing pretty good, able to stay on the lake till noon. Husband caught a few decent bass. Daughter and I gave up on the bass and fished for cats, caught about a dozen channel cats, couple of them were 4 lb, dripping eggs on the deck - ewww. Husband decided he didn't want to clean them so we found a family fishing on the dock at Pope's and gave them our catch. Watched some pretty good fireworks Sat night. I was really surprised at the "lack" of boat traffic this weekend.

Nice pics!

I would rather have a bad day fishing, than a good day at the office!

I was also surprised at the lack of boat traffic even though it seemed like there were a lot of people at the lake. We sat out in the lake on the evening of the 4th and saw one of the best fireworks displays we've ever seen. It wasnt any single display but literally dozens of people shooting off fireworks all over the lake for about 2 hrs. My wife loved it and it gave me an opportunity to fish during a great show!
