Very nice place! I caught a 34" red off the end of that jetty in the picture.(my biggest to date)

That is a young king, many of them have those spots. If that were a smack it would be a large one, the Florida record is
12 lbs.

Maybe they are that silver off the Florida coast. The ones we catch off the Texas coast are more white than silver, and the spots run the length of the body.

Ya, I had to "relearn" a lot of fish names when I was stationed there. Like whiting ("ground mullet") and ling, ("cobia")
