Fishing was ok for me this morning now for my wife, it was great.
We went to Red Barn and no other boats around and started catching hybrids.
we were fishing in 30' of water about 12' down and at times we both had fish on at the same time.
My wife keeps asking me to net her fish, while I was trying to reel in my own fish.
You know how diffacult it is to have a fish peeling line and trying to work a net at the sametime.
We caught 23 hybrids and 7 were keepers.
After it slowed down we went to Yankee creek, there were a few sandies blowing up so we caught maybe 8 before deciding to look for more hybrids.
We caught a few more sandies by the gravel pits, never did find anymore hybrids.
Got off the water at 10:30, just in time, people were already starting not to play right at the ramp.
Any way will be going again in the morning, only staying till 10 and getting out, first time I ever fished on the 4th, hope I am not sorry.

good Job! You did better than I did today. I circled the lake twice, found spooty topwater but for just a moment. Maybe 20 Sandies. This evening I went again and caught 3 DINKS and a Gasper Gue! Not having any luck lately on Hubbard. I don't know what the deal is! I'll be out there again in the morning trying to buy a fish. I hit all the spots - must be at the wrong times.

Good luck on the 4th. I will be a free for all on the water and the boat ramp will be a nightmare.

Did much better today (Saturday the 4th) Got into some big uns finally! Sassy Angler caught her biggest fish to date. That was a thrill to watch! Wind got pretty bad and after fishing every morning and niight since Wed - I had had enough. Time to recoup and try again tomorrow morning1

We got out there at 6am, no one was at the ramp, I guess everyone decided to sleep in.
We went to our normal spot and caught a few hybrids off the point.
Looked in back of the cove and saw a few birds diving so we moved there and found them schooling.
We managed to catch 15 hybrids today, most were right at 18" so not taking any chances let them go.
we did manage to keep 3 to 22", it was alot of fun but winder then yesterday.
We left at 9:30 to beat the crowds.
Today the fish were hitting top waters and plastics.

I hope everyone has a safe 4th.

My Father with his hybrids from Friday.

we went out about 10 am on the 4th. did some trolling (mostly riding with a line hanging out of the boat...LOL). Finally found some fish suspended and on the bottom at a point. Ended up catching 16 hybrids and 41 sandies until I got persuaded to go "find a beach". smile
