I thought it was just me and that I needed some new plugs but this morning I was on Lake Fork and was at the ramp paying attention to other boats and heard several haveing the same problems that I am. A lot of trouble Idling. Once I give it gass it runs fine but when I Idle around it keeps dieing and just will not idle smooth like it used to. I have found a couple stores that advertise Ethenol Free gas and am going to fill up the tank with some of that gas and test.

Just noticed you are from Quitman.. You might try gas from Starmart on HWY 515 past HWY 17 on the left. It is a little out of your way but they advertise Ethenol free gas.

RXP and fuel stabilizer. 1 bottle of each per 25 gallons will take care of ethanol and water in your fuel.

I had some problems with mine running rough at WOT, and after some inspection at the shop, they determined the ethanol in the fuel ate the lining out of the fuel line and was clogging up the fuel filter on the motor.
Keep an eye on your main fuel line on your boat and inspect for inner lining coming off and getting into your fuel system.

Can you imagine what our boats are going to run like on 15%? This is insane... I have also noticed my truck getting 2 to 5 less miles per gallon. Why are they creating a worse fuel? Makes no sense to me at all.

I worked at a boat shop for a while and the new gas killed every one of the rentals gummed up the carbs. They just rebuilt them but not sure what you could do to stop it.

What's the difference between ring free & stabil? Do use both? Yamaha Ring Free is to treat the Engine/ remove carbon deposits. Stabil Ethanol (Blue) formula is to keep the Ethanol in the gas from doing Phase Separation when your boat sits between uses. When the Ethanol separates from the gas it blends with what ever water is in the bottom of your tank and can cause detonation in the engine/ blown powerhead.
Best to get a Yamaha 10 Micron Water Separating Filter installed to keep water out of your fuel system/ injectors or carbs.
