i think all us clubbers should pool together, take about 300 of us over there, and show them how to catch bass, and keep them alive. darn shame it died, but the biologists would have killed it anyway to certify it. any one know how the k/g relate to lbs? LOL..... I think he just beat you to the punch in the "show em' how it's done department" Congrats to the angler who did it.
And I know who "Jeff" is.

if it is such an invasive species, then they should invite some good ole Tx boys out there with our boats to show them how to get rid of them..lol
I can see it now.."we are here live at the weigh ins day three for the Bassmaster crassic coming to you from Rake Biwa, in the SHiga prefecture in beautiful Japan"..."..in just minutes, we will see if Lick CRunn has enough in his bag to take the lead from Skreet Leese..."

I think it is absolutely possible. But if there is, it isn't that size year around. Small window in Jan, Feb, early part of March perhaps...

i wonder how many are trying to grow their own WR. i actually got a call from someone while working at BPS from some guy who wanted me to build him a private aquarium out of state and wanted me to try to smuggle the big bass out of our aquarium??? like im gonna walk out of bps w a 17 pounder in my pants... no, boss, that aint a bass in my pants, im just happy to be leaving work. i know some private waters also hold some huge bass and i believe its possible we have a record in a texas lake.

You're all California Dreaming. Japan is now on the list twice - whar's Texas?

Well Redfin, you know Texas has had fish that size in it at one time. Fork had a 19lber, a 20lber and a 17lber all found floating after a big freeze. I'm sure Alan Henry COULD have had a world class fish it during the boom. Not saying it is likely, but it is possible. No doubt that Cali has a better chance of producing a WR than Texas, but to say Texas has NO chance is obsurd. One thing about those Cali lakes vs. our lakes is size. Of course it would be easier to locate and catch fish in a smaller area. 76 acres is a pond compared to 27,600 acres...or compared Amistad or Falcon.
Castaic- 2235 acres Dixon- 76 acres Castias- 2700 acres Miramar- 162 acres Hodges- 1234 acres Mission Viejo- 132 acres Wohlford- 225 acres Morena- 112 acres Ikehara lake- 200 acres Success lake- 2450 acres Tarpon Lake- 2536 acres Isabella Lake- 800 acres
