 what baits to use from lighted pier at night in the bay?

I'm going camping this weekend in rockport and they have a 300' lighted pier. Was thinking of doing some fishing in the evening and into the night. What baits should I use for this? Preferably something I can just pick up at a local bait shop.
this will be in copano bay

Both will usually work. I seem to get bigger fish by targeting the areas at the edges of the light.

Texas Tackle Factory Killer Shad Rigs in glow color work great and can be found at most wal marts

I have used the spec rigs with the double glow in the dark plastics. You can get them either at walmart or pretty much any bait stand. Walmart will be cheaper. Never caught anything big but definitely caught quantity. Good Luck

Ive caught plenty by using spec rigs, or u can try 2" Storm lures. shad glow color from Academy

a fly always seems to work best, small shrimp and clousers.

do y'all fish those weightless? what about floats/bobbers?
