Hi all. I'm taking my kids up to Texoma this weekend. Haven't fished up there since the 80's blush so I'm a little out of the loop on where to go. I will be putting in at Mill Creek and would like to stay pretty close to that area. I've been reading the other posts and most of the spots are pretty far away from Mill Creek. The main river channel goes right past Mill Creek, would that be any good? We'll be fishing midday to evening, so I am expecting to use slabs on deeper fish. Don't really want to mess with live shad although I know that's the best way. Oh yeah, I'm after stripers but sandies would keep the kids happy too. We don't have to slay them just catch a few while out enjoying the weekend. Are they in deep water now that summer heat has set in?

Any suggestions? Thanks, and happy 4th, all! flag

Thanks for the tip. It shouldn't be too hard to get there. It's just that with two little kids, I always like to stay close to home base if possible. A month or so ago, there were several reports of good fishing around the Mill Creek area but I haven't seen anything lately. Lately, either I don't recognize the spots mentioned at all, or they are on the other side of the lake from Mill Creek. Thanks again.

Just north of nort island is some deeper water might try. I do not fish that end of the lake much after April. I did have good luck one July around Island View. Neither of these areas are far from Mill Creek but you will have to deal with the rollers from the yachts coming out of Loe's.

Thanks, gentlemen. Sounds like the schools generally move east in mid-summer. Plan is to cruise between Mill Creek and North Island looking for fish stacked in deep water. I'm off, so wish me well, and I'll fill you in on Monday how it went.

Happy Birthday, USA! flag

Based on other reports I'm reading today...

As you go east past North Island turn left and go find The Cross. IF the fish are at The Cross anything up & down that west should be good too. Lots of humps and look for the Oil Well on your map in that area.
