Marc, sorry I followed you so closely. I just figured by the looks of your boat that you must be on the fish.

I have not seen him yet that I know of. Maybe he thinks the spots I fish are no good. I am OK with that ! I will post if I see him or have a encounter.

Big 1 Bass, I have seen people catch fish in a spot and all and if I have never fished that same spot before I do not go fish the spot where I seen them. I can find my own fish so no need to hole jump. You can ask my tournament partners they will tell you. I have had them say maybe we should try over there where those guys caught fish earlier. I simply say no lets go try over here or there. That is just me.

I dont fish spots because I saw a guide on them,I fish spots because I have spent ALOT of time graphing spots and setting waypoints,if I end up on a "guides spot"...its a spot that I found on my own,not one I stole from someone else....and plus,I found a honey hole today that Ive never seen anyone else on or near!!I pulled a 8.6 off of it today!!plus alot of other nice unders and slots.

My wife and I had a double on a couple of months ago. As were reeling them in 3 ol geezers in a jon boat were driving by. They hollered over asking what we caught them on. I told them, "the cheapest lures I could find on ebay", which was the truth. They then proceed to motor over and I [censored] you not, anchor right where I was. I would have been mad if I hadn't been dying laughing.

Fisherman are some of the best liars I know.. Not saying your lying Marc.. but I'm sure you didn't become a guide overnight and you used or still use all and any information you can get your hands on. Some Good info, some bad info.. All I'm saying is there is a tactful way to discovering fishing holes.. In no way would I condone coming up on top of you while you were fishing and collecting the waypoints.. But I might come back there another day and cast a few times.. with the GPS of yesterday.. Triangulation...

Skeeters owners tourney on that Saturday we caught 25 fish before 7:00am and 4 boats was watching the whole thing happen. For the next 3 hours we had a convoy of boats following us. Two boats thanked us because everywhere we went they caught fish. When I cranked the big motor and left they could not keep up. Also my mom has people follow her around because her boat looks just like Clint wright's.

Marc, I would probably follow you around. The difference is you know me. The other difference is you know I can't catch fish anyway! nuts

Before I bought Lance's Boatlanes chip, I followed guides a few times out of the backs of creeks so I would know where to run safely. I would never follow someone to their hole. That's just not right.

Here's an idea Marc.

Let them follow you but don't go to your fishing hole. Just stop your boat and get set up to fish. Start throwing a heavy C-rig OVER THEIR BOAT. Do this about six times. Reel your line up and through their boat each time banging the weight into their boat each time as you reel it through their boat.

If they say anything, just look at them innocently and say, "sorry man, but you guys are sitting right where the fish are".

Once they figure out you are crazy, they will leave...

If that doesn't work, start up your big motor and do slow, almost on plane donuts in circles around them all the while looking at your graph and pressing buttons on the keypad.

After you do this for a few minutes their boat will be rocking up & down so badly they won't be able to stand up much less fish.

If they say something just tell them you are trying to locate some fish...

If they show up again, repeat steps 1 & 2. They will get the message...

Marc, sorry to hear the time with your son was disrupted.
I'm on the lake more than your average Joe, and I see this all the time. It's pitiful what some people will do, and it don't matter if their locals or out of staters.
Desperate people do desperate things, the pot lickers are getting braver every year.

Good luck next trip out.
