Okay, I need some help. I am looking at a great buy on a 99 17' Ranger single console with a 150 merc for 5k. Belongs to a older gentleman that has kept it very nice but doesn't use it any longer. Only issue, I have a skinny little 10 year grand daughter that loves to fish. I rode many years in a single console basscat and either froze or got peppered with bugs and got soaked to the core (very wet boat) My question to the forum, what is the best solution to block the elements on the passenger seat. I just toughed it out, but she can't do that. I thought about having one made, but the road box might get in the way. Any suggestions?

That's a sweet deal on a nice boat! Condition, condition, condition... If I'm not mistaken, a Ranger is a pretty dry riding boat. One thing you might do is not run it WOT in inclement weather. You could also get her a Phace Saver and some good quality wet weather togs in small size, which she may even grow into. Or just don't take the sweeheart out in the rough weather just yet. There's still gonna be plenty of summer and hot weather fall to go this year, fer sure. Or just suck it up, pass on the boat, and keep waiting for a deal on a nice dual. Now, uh... what was the name of that older fella selling the Ranger again?
I've never killed anyone, but I've read several obituaries with great enjoyment.

You can get her a Save Phace to keep the bugs and rain off her for sure.

I have a Garmin 198C sounder. Garmin has discontinued this unit. I need a new power cord. I haven't had any luck with Garmin. I love their equipment but their website sucks. Anyone have an idea where I might get a new power cord?

check with ranger and see if they have one that you can buy and would work in that boat. they sold em as extras not installed I'm pretty sure.

If you need a dual console boat then the Ranger really isn't a good deal for you. You could keep looking and find a good deal on the "right boat".

I keep an extra rain suit in mine for that purpose.
Now, Donald...please pick John Bolton for your running mate.

Thanks for the good advise. I love this forum, some really good advise. As it turned out, I did decide to pass on the boat, not that I had much choice, it sold the next morning. I sucked it up and put out the cash for a used dual console Champion, will fit my needs much better. It's was as well cared for, but it isn't hurt, just some scratchs from bass country. thanks again for all the advise...
