my dad has broken one off on a crankbait before only to catch his crankbait 3 casts later, with BOTH treble hooks on opposite sides of a bass' mouth.
how that bass even hit the other crank is beyond me.

Here's one for you, Mike. May of 2008, I was strolling a similar Lucky Craft D20 in Splatterback white. Was on the fish pretty good and stuck what felt to be a good one but she ran me into a tree, wrapped me up and broke me off.
Two days later Lance Vick, a friend and me are fishing the same spot when my buddy hangs what he thinks is a good fish. Fights her close to the boat when we notice the bait he's throwing is not in the fishes mouth, mine from two days ago is! My friend had hung the line and pulled the fish loose from the tree where, apparently, she had been hung up and swimming around on about 50 feet of 10# InvisX for two days!
Still hard for me to believe. Oh, she was about 8 pounds.

I was throwing a deep diver on Choke this spring when I hung it up in some submerged brush. I worked at getting it loose, but finally ended up breaking off. I retied and started working my way down the bank. About 30 minutes later I spot a crankbait floating in open water. Yep, it was mine. I was probably 250 - 300 yards away from where I had lost it.

I once was casting an inline spinner at once of the trout-release sites and on one retrieve my spinner came back with two other inline spinners attached to it--I cast out one and reeled in three.

CAME BACK TO SAME LEDGE AND WAS THROWING LIZARD TX RIG AND HUNG AN OLD TROTLINE. PULLED IT UP AND GOT MY DD22 BACK PLUS ONE THE EXACT SAME COLOR EXCEPT IT WAS A RAPALA DEEP DIVER. SOME ONE HAD ALREADY CHANGE THE HOOKS FOR ME ALSO, THANKS. RETURNED TO CATCHING FISH AGAIN.

How come you guys don't carry along a lure retriever? I have not lost any crankbaits since I started using one. The one I use cost me about $5 and I have saved probably $100.
