What length do you guys make your overall C-rig? The whole thing. I see some guys with C-rigs 3 and 4 feet long. I generally make mine about 18-24 inches overall.
Additionally, how much weight do you use on a baitcaster C-rig ?

1/2 oz with about 4 - 5 ft leader. I seem to get more bites with the long leader.

depends on the bottom if there is grass or not. usually 20-36" 1/2-1oz weight depending on the depth.
Do something every day that makes you happy. Fishing tops my list... Whooop - There it is! 😎

Depends on the time of year. I use a shorter one in the Spring 18"-24". Summer to fall. 3'-6'.

I prefer 18" - 24" myself. I have gone longer when necessary, but typically keep the same length of leader at all times. One time @ OH Ivie, I had a local tell me, to throw a 6' leader. Now that was fun, since I am only 4'10" But I actually would lob it out there instead of casting.

I agree with the posts above. It depends on the Season, water depth, and bottom structure. In the spring and shallow water I will go with an 18" (approx.) In the summer and/or deep I will go with the longer 30". If there is grass then a longer leader can be good but I have also seen times that a "teeeeeny" weight and a short leader fished on top can be best. If you fish those "loooong" 4'+ leaders watch your backseater duck when you cast! Especially in a short boat. The problem though, is with a longer leader it will tend to tie knots. (The fish Gremlins at work!) So if you use them remember to check your leader often.
Weight also depends on the same factors. It is harder to fish a 1 oz (exaggeration) in 4' of water hanging up on the bushes. Larger weights can also spook the fish in shallow water. So adjust your weight to the situation. You might need a 1 oz in 30' of water where the 1/4 oz is too light. I typically use a 5/8 tungsten in my mid range water fishing 10'-20'. I use 3/4 brass (cheaper) for my 20'+ fishing. I am normally fishing deep brush piles and a 1 oz tends to hang up more often. If it is just a drop off or fairly clean bottom I might go to a 1 oz. I also put a 1/16 lead bullet weight in front of my main sinker to give it a sharper tip to help go through the brush/stumps/grass etc...

Normally 36" to 42". Weight depends on the depth I'm fishing. 1/2" oz. for shallower depths. 3/4" oz. for deeper depths. 1 oz. for fishing deep. If it's windy I use a heavier weight as well. On a c-rig it's important for the weight to be making good contact with the bottom.

Wow a 7' leader. I am no expert on the c-rig, but I use 1/4 ounce weight and a 2' leader shallow. The 1/2 ounce weight with a 3'leader 10 to 20 ft any deeper I use a heavier weight but generally do not go past a 3' leader.
