I am new to this site. I love to fish since I retired, I don't have a boat so I bank fish alot, I live in Rowlett and was wondering if anyone could give me advise on where to fish for crappie and sandbass. I like to bass fish and have a buddy with a boat and when he has time he is kind enough to take me, but when he is at work I just want to fish and don't know where to go and what to fish for. Any help out there would be much appreciated. I really like the way everyone help's each other on this site. If anyone would like to go one day alway's looking for new friends. I am not very good and always wanting to learn from everyone out there.

Nibbler: Thankyou for your reply. I went there back when the gates were open and it looked like a wasp nest. I went over by the power plant but not much luck. I have fished all my life with my grandfather, and he did things alot different than what everyone does now. I am having to learn all over again, from rods to reals to different types of bait's and lures. Any tips are greatly appreciated. Thank's again.

KrazyFish thankyou, I live off Liberty Grove and had the good fortune of catching the sand bass in March, My daughter and Ihad a ball. I hope I can learn more about fishing from you guy's and gal's. It's just been a long time since I have had the time and the chance to get to enjoy it. I fished and hunted with my grandfather until he passed away. Now I have a daughter that loves to fish and is now my new fishing buddy. I don't want to show her the wrong way, but I just don't now all of the new ways of fishing like you know. Maybe an old dog can learn new tricks

You might want to try the Ponds, Tanks & Private Waters forum as well.
