My dad and I spent Sunday on Cedar Creek with Chuck and Laurie. We are bass fisherman in the process of converting. I think we are there actually, in big part thanks to this trip. They were great – not only at consistently putting us on the fish, but being patient with my ham handedness and explaining what we were doing and WHY. We limited out in addition to learning a lot about various equipment, techniques and electronics. Here’s a shot with the keepers: In addition I hooked a log that I ended up fighting for 20-30 minutes. That log turned out to be a 40+lb cat. It was a lot of fun fighting this boy on 6lb test, but my wrist was cramping the rest of the day. We had him hooked just right or we never would have got him in the boat. He was just too big for the net. We had his head in it several times and he would just make another run for the bottom. We let him go, but it was a heck of a fight. We really had a good time, and will definitely be going back. If you have been on the fence about booking a trip now is the time. They were biting all day long no matter the heat. Thanks again to Chuck and Laurie.

It was killer hot, and no wind. I think the water temp was 90? No wonder some folks are having fish die in the live well.
There was no shortage of fish that is for sure. We got a late start and still had our limit by about 2:30 or so.
I wonder what the boys are going to say when dad mounts a crappie top on his Ranger?

Laurie was probably hiding in the front of the boat. If you look you can see we were throwing chairs everywhere so I could follow that big boy wherever he went.
