Last three times i've been to the lake I almost got stuck on the boat ramp first time it happened was about a year ago went with my stepdad in his boat and when I backed the boat in the water went to pull it out couldnt get any traction and actually started sliding back into the lake after about 10 miutes of nearly burning all the rubber off of the tires I was able to get out, the boat ramp is covered in this really slick moss or algae and you have no traction at all. Went to Fayette about a month ago with my dad in my truck and told him not to back down to far or we would get stuck. Same damn thing happened again with the tires of the truck about 2 feet out of the water, sat there spinning the tires and we were able to work ourselves out of the ramp. I have a short cab pick up and a 16ft. boat so to get my boat in the water I have to back down pretty far to launch it.This happened at the Prarie Park boat ramp went to Fayette this saturday and decided to try Oak Thicket to see if it was any better, I slid a little bit but it was alot better than Prarie Park. If it gets any worse they're going to have to do something about this, I've been going to Fayette about 5 or 6 years now and the ramps didnt use to be like that. It looks like the hydrilla is growing up in the lake to my stepdad said the hydrilla used to be so bad on Fayette you literally had trails you had to drive through the hydrilla to fish and they put grass carp in the lake that eventually ate the hydrilla maybe they need to put some more of em in there. I talked to a guy saturday at Fayette about the ramps and he said they are having to pull some people out of the boat ramps that can't get out. If your going out there for the first time dont back your truck to far down or you might not be able to get out Id suggest Oak Thicket Park, because its not as bad there.

Dang, are these public boat ramps? Boat launches around here went up to ten bucks a pop. I would really be upset if I had that kind of trouble after paying ten dollars.
