While fishing at FCL, I went to put my wedding band into my Wife's camera box. Yep; you guessed it. It popped off of my finger, hit the side console, hit the gunwale and plunked into the water. Fortunately, it is in about 2 1/2' of water and I pretty much know where it would be. The problem is the water was clouded ( I wear glasses), I didn't have a change of clothes, and there are some weeds there. I just didn't want to jump in and risk burying it at the time it happened. To say the least, my Wife is devastated and cried on the way home.
Does anyone have a metal detector that is water capable? My Son-in-law's Father has one but I am not sure it will work in water. I will be finding out.
If anyone has one or any ideas, I WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATE IT!!!
Feeling like a toatl bum....

My sympathies, man. I dropped a ring full of keys into the water the other day, having my flash drives on it and everything.
My dad did somethin like that once, and retrieved it by snaggin it with some heavy barrel weights and treble hooks. lol shopvac?
Adieu.

I have a couple of metal detectors that can be in water up to about 3 foot. but not for sure what lake you were speaking of. If it is that shallow, I am sure you could possably find it in shallow water.

good luck
maybe a magnet? don't know if it would attract a ring tho. if the bottom is sandy try dragging a sain (well buried) thru the area if all else fails.

I know the 10' x 10' area it is in. I am contacting Houston metal detector clubs and trying to enlist their help.

Unfortunately, I have made two trips and two attempts to find this ring with metal detectors without any success. I tried a detector that would only search in a bout 2 1/2' of water a week ago. I had a very nice person from the Montgomery County Artifact Recovery Club come to the lake with his underwater equipment. We searched for 6 hours to no avail. We found beer cans, a spinner bait, lead sinkers and wire.
I will have to think about this for awhile as to my next move.

It's in no more than 4-feet of water. The water where it is at is cloudy at best with a nasty mud bottom. Any movement stirs up the mud and makes the water clarity horrible. The ring is tungsten-carbide.

RAYZOR Check with your nearest metal detector club;there is always some one willing to help you. > http://www.goldminershq.com/CLUBS/METAL2.HTM#Anchor-TXxxx < Just click on the address and it will open up for you. Give them a call. P.S. Be sure and tell them it is not made of gold. Because they will set their detector for gold and reject all other metals. They may also not know where titanium should display on their detector, I sure wouldn't know on mine. If you have another ring made of titanium let them do a reading on it.
