Just got my order of Oakley's with amber lenses - fishing specific.
They have more light transmission than my other oakleys eith standard polarized gray lenses.
One blurb said that once the glare is removed with polarized lenses, the tint does not need to be as dark.
Planned on using the amber early morning, evening or if it's overcast.

amber also helps you see green better(i.e. bass) so when you are sight fishing, or fishing in general, you can pick out a bass in a body of water much better. try looking through amber lenses at a dried up lawn or field, every blade of green grass pops out at you, and if you are fishing very clear water with quality lenses, the bass will do the same.

I seem to collect sunglasses and I preffer the polarized amber lenses the most. Whether it be Maui Jims, Oakleys or Costas.

I use brown lenses most of the time. Need to get a pair of amber for those cloudy/low light conditions.
