to hold a 5k event in nebraska out of my own pocket Carp-O-Rama also is a chance to thin an abundant carp population at Pawnee. Anglers may then take their new-found skills to other waters and further reduce the numbers of this nongame fish that muddies water and uproots plants with its aggressive feeding activities. Common carp are an exotic species that were introduced to North America a long time ago, Bauer said. We would be better off without them and as fisheries managers we will continue to eliminate them whenever possible. But, the fact is, they are here to stay and when life gives you lemons, you might as well make lemonade. Daryl Bauer Fisheries Outreach Program Manager Nebraska Game & Parks Commission daryl.bauer@nebraska.gov Barbs and Backlashes Carp-O-Rama held same weekend as CAGI at Pawnee lake in Nebraska the lake is under a blue-green algae alert, I remember reading where where gizzard shad where responcable for such an algae bloom on a lake in florada, yet they don't hold a shad a thon though do they?
no officer sir..... carp do not get "high" on hemp seed

the only difference is that cag is catch and release, and it sounds like that is catch and throw away.

in NE defence at least they promoted Carp for food, reading some of the posts they landed a few fish over 30", google earthing the lake shows the watershed surrounded by farm fields, its no wonder they have the nutrients issues they do, instead of multi million dollar renovations every 10 years it would pay to have the state buy up the worst offending plots of land around the lake's watershed or pay land owner's to CRP the land and plant to prevent runoff and the inevitable dump of pesticides and fertilizers that end up in the lake
