Well I got some bad news.... There are several dead fish along the banks, my wife and I saw 50 to 60 dead fish along the short distance of bank we walked. Most of them were drum, but there were some sandies and crappie washed up too.... I don't know what's causing it, but it appears bad to me! I can only assume that there are dead fish all over the lake like that. We were on the west side across from the spillway. I snapped a few pics and will post them when I get back home. I'm on my phone right now with the edge network going on, so it's nice and slow..

I called the COE today and was told TPWD has been contacted and will be collecting samples of fish to run some test. It is suspected that some of the insecticides used on the pecan trees was washed off into the river/lake after a 3" rain. That's all I got for now. Please feel free to share anything you may have to add.

it happens on occassion just about everywhere don't think it's bad enough to claim anything is wrong but have seen a few more than normal on banks
it's getting hot and oxygen levels are dropping that coupled with added nutrients can have a eutrophication type effect that will kill some fish, but dillution will happen and everything will be ok

Not sure if you read any of the above post, but I would be careful and not eat any if you catch some.
With that being said, I don't get to fish Proctor but once a year, but I usually have my best luck between the bridge and the island. Lots of surface activity for the sandies and cath some hybrids trolling around the island.

eat fish there all the time it's fine
for sandies and hybrids 1-1.5 oz. slabs use different presentations off of wind blown banks at points and drop offs

Did the lake Rise 25 feet or more in the last 6mo? As a lic. pest control technician it is illegal to apply any insecticides except a small few exceptions within 25 ft of any water way stream pond well etc

25 feet change would mean the lake was empty. It is low, but not that low. Here is the last 60 day data from USGS. Came up 1.5 feet with that last rain they got 3 weeks ago. Slowed down the fishing. Will be giving it a try tomorrow and Saturday to see if it has improved any. http://waterdata.usgs.gov/tx/nwis/uv?cb_...ite_no=08099400
