Who's driving makes a difference but 30 years of chasing bass, I've owned a lot of um, fished out of most of um in all kinds of weather with all kinds of drivers.

Hands down Champion is the best riding and handling boat I've been in.

Champion rides the best along with the other boats that have bullet shaped hulls aka legend and bass cat. they'r a little narrower for spearing waves better head on and a little deeper, but they dont fish like my skeeter.

if you spend more time riding go champion more time fishing go skeeter, by the way my zx 250 rides pretty nice so dont know what bozo jerry springer has been riding with but... my 2 from a guy thats owned both

Actually the legend is a knock off of the Cobra/Storie Hawk boats. When John Storie left Champion he had a non-compete contract that stated no V-wedge hulls. He splashed a 481 Ranger hull, changed some chines and such and labeled it Hawk. Hawk went tits up and the molds were used to build Cobra boats. Now Legend is building pretty much the same boat. Do an internet photo search on Hawk, Cobra and Legend. Compare the pics and you'll see that they all are pretty much the same hull.
As far as best riding, I would have to say Champion and Basscat, that being said I haven't been in a big Bullet or Gambler, I know some guys that run them that are ex champ owners. The tell me the big Bullet or G-boat will run with a Champ all day.

Oh and by the way,John Storie didn't/wasn't the Champion designer. Champion's V-wedge design was actually a splash of a Hydrostream hull....Go figure that, and most bass fishing guys are really quick to knock the go fast guys and boats.

I think because people know they are a fast boat they think they will ride rough. I think the only boats that even come close to the ride a G-boat will give you are the Champs,Ledgend and the Cats and all are slower too. the only thing I don't like about the G-boats is the very small back deck.

i dont care about the small back deck, because i fish up front, but the back isnt that bad. I can guarantee you that there is not a front deck that measures to the size of Gamblers. And they are the only boat that you actually sit in, and the are super shallow. I go lots of places that are shallow that people will look at and say no way.

I am very partial to my BC Cougar. I know the champion Rides good but there wuality has gone down hill, I say this after seeing a 225 merc sittin on the back deck of one after a rough day at Ray Hubbard. He didn't hit anything, the bolts pulled out of the transom. Don't just take my word, call Tommy or Blake at Rockwall Marine, thye did the repairs.
The BC offers a total package great ride and great fishablity. I saw a post earlier that said they don't fish skinny water as well but I have had my cat in places that I have seen others struggle.
I have also heard great things about the Gamblers and can say from experince that The TR21X had a great ride. I would probably put it between the COugar and TR21X, since I have never fished out of a Gambler.
MY .02
And by the way after running a cat for better than 10yrs I can honestly say I have only been wet a handfull of times and most of that was wind blowing water back up and driving mistakes.

Well not to hijack the post but I think everyone has answered Brokeoffs question and im sure he wont mind!! But what about fishing out of a champion? How do they do when walking around from side to side ? Do they pitch around a lot? I have fished out of different boats when 2 people step to one side it feels like your going to flip it over..

(i smell fish) The newer Champs are very stable fishing platforms.I have a 206 with the 96" beam. I do fish with a friend that has a Champ 203 with 90" beam and it will rock with movement. The Skeeter 250zx is a excellent fishing boat and seems to ride well (haven't been in one in big swells). It all depends on your personal tastes. I hear good things about Basscats, but we don't see many around here.I fish out of many different brand boats and there are many good ones out on the market. The Nitro Z9 & Z8 models will surprise you with a good smooth ride and the Z9 has massive storage. The Z8 will fly.

yes they tip awfully bad, Ive owned one, ride great, but fish poorly IMHO

quality is good but hull design lends itself to tip while fishing

I am a converted champion owner and now fish a zx 250. to me its the best of both worlds, great ride and off the charts fishability. I have a buddy thats a huge cat guy and he had to admit his next boat will be a skeeter. I will never say that champs arent great boats though.I really loved mine when the wind was blowing and I had a 50 mile run to weigh in.
