corking for cats ??????

I have heard people talk about corking can anybody give me some detail on this technique. fishing eagle mountain tonight.

I usually fish a cork up shallow for channel cats. You can use the slip bobbers of regular cork. You just need to find the right depth.

Another trick that sometimes works if you're gonna fish the bottom is to rig a cork at about 6" deeper than the water, such that your weight sits on bottom with just a bit of slack between. This eliminates problems with bite detection caused by the boat swinging a bit (which is inevitable if an anchor is involved).
No fish is too good for the grease.

I love fishing cats with those lighted bobbers at night. Nothing cooler than seeing that lighted bobber streaking off under the water...

I rig mine with a bobber stop and a slip cork. First put on the bobber stop knot then a slip cork then a 1/4 ounce slip sinker and a swivel. Add a 12 inch leader and a #6 treble hook and your ready to go.

thank for the info guys i have always drifted in deep water.But i think i will give this a try tonight i heard the rocks at the old twin points were putting out a good bit.

slip bobbers are the way to go for sure! shallow or deep.
