If you really want to step out there and buy a nice reel get the Calais. Then call Castaway and get a 6'3" Skeleton with the recoil guides. That is the exact setup I fish with. Super light and really handy if you wadefish alot. Take my word for it, I have have fished that setup for over a year and have never had a problem.
After fishing, rinse your reel out. Then spray it down with Corrosion X. Let it sit for 15 minutes, then rinse the Corrosion X out with a water hose. I do that everytime and my reel stays smooth.

Curious, why would you want to rinse the corrosion x out?

Trapperben...Corrosion X is thick and kinda goopy. If you leave it in there you will not be able to throw more than 15 yards. When you rinse it out it leaves just enough lubrication in the reel to help with saltwater protection. Excellent product!!!
