I got a new boat with a Lowrance lms 480 w/GPS in the console and an X 135 in the bow. Can someone please tell me the correct settings for these two units. I tried but I really am 20 years since I last used a fishfinder. Thanks for any help.

Find in menu options and re-set to factory settings then get manuals for each. All I change on most fishfinders is the gain-sensitivity.

LMS-480
I would suggest:
Sens 75%
Ping 100%(Console) or 50-75%(T/M)
Chart 100%(Console) or 50-75%(T/M)
Auto Depth ON
Fish ID OFF(Definitely OFF)
Greyline Sorry Dont Remember

These are approx. settings. You can tweak these of course, to your satifaction. I owned one for alittle while.
Sorry cant comment on the X135 Never owned one.
Hope this helps.

Hi,go into the main menu, and shut off the auto settings,or factory default settings."un check that box"?now go back to all your settings and reset them to what ever you want.
sen...64%
scroll speed, chart...100%
ping speed...100%
auto depth range(on)
gray line...50%
NOW go back in main menu and re check auto box to all auto settings again?
HERE'S why I have you do this The Lowrance units are designed to be set at say...80% sen...Then when you re apply auto mode the unit will go from 0-80% always adjusting from and up to that setting? which at a 80% setting its usually to much screen clutter. So that why I always choose the 64% setting.you set it manually first and then apply auto.NOW IT WILL AUTO ADJUST FROM 0- 64%.See most people think if they set it at 80% then apply auto, thats where it will stay set at?No its always adjusting form 0- to that setting you applyed.
I set up alot of guys sonars and gps units at the 2009 Triton Owners Tournament at ky. lake.Man there was alot of guys not eve using thier units because of not being set right?Factory default is good for these guys but not really good.

Sorry to mention: I am on other bass boards as a Q/A guy for Triton Boats. And a moderator of 10 threads.
I was schooled from WILSON FRASIER...The Lowrance PROFESSOR for over 35yrs.

Hope you fix your problem guy.
Bill

The other seetings you can play with, but these are the best alround settings for 480-x96 x125 x135's.
