What are y'alls opinions on using twin tail grubs as jig trailers? I've purchased some and want to try them out, but it's hard to not put on a Paca Chunk in watermelon red.

Is there a specific time of year or depth that a twin tail grub is more appealing?

I know, "Let the fish tell you...", but there has to be some general guidelines or something that would help you decide when to use them.

when crawfish are around. twin tail grubs on football head jigheads work very well on mainlake rockypoints, where crawfish is a main forage.

They're great all around! thumb Especially on a swim jig through grass!

they are good on a football jig for stroking it through brush piles off points, road beds, and in front of boat docks and any structure. also good for finnesse jigs for flipping docks and hopping it around rocks.

I like using one a sexy shad color jig in the reeds.

+1 on the swim jig, and when I need a faster fall with more action. It has less resistance than chunks and craws. I like them on chatterbaits at low light.

Bass fishing is like a 30,000 acre golf course with no flags and five holes you can't see- Tim

+1 Skeeter Ronnie.

I also think they are the best choice, when the fish are short striking a jig.

I have had times where a full-size jig trailer (i.e. Larew Craw/Nichols Texas Craw) the fish will just grab the lure by the trailer and take off. You set the hook and nada! Add a short compact trailer like a TT Grub and your hookup ratio increases by 75%.
