Has anyone figured out how to throw a cast net from the sitting position in a kayak?
RealBigReel I don't go too fast but I go pretty far.

Only way I can do it is sitting side saddle, and then I'm only throwing a small cast net.
Just one more cast!

I don't see it happening. If it gets done then the guy doing it must be from the islands or something!

you would have to have a super stable kayak. And You would have to hold your hands & arms up really high to swing it to make it open. And throwing it out away from you would be hard as hell to do. You might possibly be able to do it standing up, coarse you'd turtle tryn that way. i cant see it happening

I've thrown mine off my knees. Not as well as standing but sitting I was unlikely to catch anything except inside the yak.

Notice how the throw is from a neutral position in the kayak. Don't lean into the throw and you won't even tip.

The trouble I see is all the [censored] in my kayak getting hung as I sling it. The peddles of the turbo drive we hard to get around.

pretty fancy, just remember the end of your rope needs to stay on your wrist lol.

I used to have the thingy called the perfect circle. You had to install it and it stayed on the net then throw the whole thing like a frisby. I thinkj you could do it if you had one of them. mine broke and i don't use on anymore but it did the trick when i had it. they say you can throw from a wheelchair so i figure throwing out of a yak would be no different.
