 2007 Chevy Siverado: Differential Issue

Has anyone experienced this issue before?
Symptoms- While at a complete stop a THUMP like someone bumped you from behind.
Today on the way back from the CAT RR tournament headed south on I-35 my truck lost power and the diagnostic gauge indicated something wrong in the differential. The gauge indicated it was on reduced power. Freaked me and my partner out. The truck only allowed me to go about 40 mph. Truck bumped harder than before each time it shifted into 2nd.
I suppose I need to call Monte. It should be under warranty.

Are you in "tow mode" (depress the button on the end of your shift lever) when this happens or does it do it all the time? You getting any kind of check engine light or trouble code (where your LED readout indicates trip miles, etc)?

i have a 08 and mine has had 2 diffs and a 2 tranns all at 34k miles. welcome to the headache club.

Yes, I had the thump. Seemed that when I came to a complete stop after hard breaking I got a thump. Then a lot of times when taking off, it felt like the drive line spun for just a millisecond and I got a thump going forward.
Before I could finish pleading my case to have the dealer figure out what was wrong, they said there was a bulletin about a heaver grease needed in the "box" and it was a common issue. That was 10k miles ago and I no longer have the issue.

Had that problem on 02 2500 chevy... since I replaced brakes have not noticed it???????? Maybe related maybe not. Interested to know what it was.
