Went 3 weeks ago, water level was normal and the grass was abundant.

Went a few weeks back also. There was lots of vegeatation and lily pads. Unfortunatley, we didn't get a single strike in about two hours.
Be safe, Rayzor ![[Linked Image]](http://i418.photobucket.com/albums/pp267/JLedbetter/th_Boatpics036.jpg) 2001 Triton Tx-21/225 Mercury EFI

the grass is back. hydrilla, milfoil, coontail, pads. it was a tough bite when i went 2 weeks ago, make sure you get out there as early as the gates open, it will be an early bite only.

Well with my 5 yr old son, all my buddy and I wil be doing is making sure he is having fun.
We use crickets for redears (they get pretty big) and fish with cane poles to reduce the potential problems.
Then we usually switch to some minnows and try crappie - still on cane poles.

How far out does the hydrilla go? Once it hits 12-15 feet and forms a wall, throw a wacky on the edge and hang on. Before they killed the grass there, I hit at least 20 solid fish every trip. That bite doesn't start till the sun gets up. I fish conroe now, but when Raven was full of hydrilla, I think I went three or four years without touching conroe.
