First we went offshore fishing which was a first for me and my daughter.
Didn't start off well for her as it was really windy and rough and we got a little wet right off the bat and had to stumble into the cabin...

Once we got to our spot she had a little more fun though...

We only did a 5 hour trip so we weren't into the snappers or anything but we did have a little luck.
Here is my buddies fish as he was hauling it in. Can you guess what it is from this pic??

Yep a Sailfish!

That's my buddy in the middle.

I ended up catching this shark.

Other than our 2 fish, the rest of the boat caught 1 other shark, a kingfish, a bonita, and a 50 lb cobia.

We rented a condo with some boat slips and some submerged fishing lights so I spent a few nights fishing out there. I only caught 4 keeper spotted trout and 2 redfish that were too small but I did catch alot of other weird fish.

Here is a pic of one of the trout and another fish that I caught. Caught these on a red and white spoon. Anyone know what the long skinny fish is??? I was thinking mullet but don't know. I think it is one of those fish that jump way out of the water...

My first ever Redfish. Yeah he is small.

Caught 4 or 5 of these ribbon fish and lost countless others due to their teeth cutting the line. Got real tired of messing with them. This one wasn't even the biggest.

These next 2 are dogfish I think. At least that is what someone told me when I explained these to them. Anyone know for sure????

This one was actually pretty big compared to the other. The fins on the side were about as big as my palm.

I don't know what the [censored] this is....

Or this...which I caught a few of.

Also not real sure what this is. Looked like the trout but had no spots.

And last is just a great pic of my daughter!

So can anyone tell me what the fish are that I had questions on??

Not all of the pic came up!!!

That little one looks like a dog fish. I believe that its actually called a shell cracker

The other fish(next to the spec) is a lady fish. They do jump alot, and put up a pretty good fight too. But don't try eating them.

Looks like a fun trip. Thanks for sharing the pics!

I believe the bottom two are a pin fish and a sand trout. Will need conformation on that though.

great pics looks like the young lady had a good time after the rough water. Yeah I dont think I would be puttin my thumb in those "Shell fishs" Mouths though. They hold on like a pitbull.... Them ribbon fish & pin perch are very good bait as mentioned. Looks like y'all had a great trip congrats & Tight Lines!!!

Very good pics. Lady fish (sometimes referred to as skipjack) are good bait as are the pin fish and ribbon fish. Congrats on the sail. That is quite a feat. Not many can say they've done that.

I caught a much bigger version of a fish that looked like the "dogfish" or "oyster cracker" that you have there, and I looked it up and found out it was called a sea robin. I don't know if that's a juvenile or a different fish altogether that you have there, but they sure look alike.

The long skinny fish is a "Lady Fish" some of the best shark bait that swims, next to a barracuda anyway. Works good on Mackerel as well.
