I fish out of a bass boat and love it unless it gets hairy windy out there. For the wind in these parts the deep V is nice to have. I just like being lower to the water and my bass boat lets me do that. Both have their advantages. Also, a deep V is nicer to have if you have a family. It's usually more open and you don't have to worry about the little ones going in the drink too much.

I've got a 175txw tracker now. It and the Jeep will stay. Next toy will be a 'Toon with a cover for HOT days and room to relax.

Lund boat will be my next boat. Bass boat just can not handle the wind and weather like a lund.
The gene pool could use a little chlorine.

Depends on what day you ask me...... I currently fish a Nitro bass boat and have thought more than once that I'd really like to have a Lund, Crestliner, or something along those lines. More room, better rough water ride, and other factors too numerous to remember or list. On the other hand I like my boat when I'm fishing timber or other vertical structure. Standing and fishing on the front deck seems natural for me at least..... Don't know which way I'll go next but it looks like I've got a few more years before I have to worry about it

I love my little bass boat but the wind can be a factor at times. Another style to consider & I've heard a lot of good reports is a bay boat (center console) Usually deeper draft, raised decks, just not so high as in a bass boat and open all around the control center. I see lots of guides & others fishing out of them. Just a thought.

Deep v boats luke the Lund are just comfortable boats to fish from. There more stable than most boats with comparable length because of there width. Center console boats are nice too but not as comfortable as the deep v boats. I have one of each. The reason I got the CC boat is because it's bigger and holds more people. Bass boats are good for one or two people but still not as comfortable as the deep v or CC boat. Also bass boats don't run shallower in the water than most bay boats. There comparable unless your talking a flats boat.

I love my Bass Tracker Tournament V-18.. Deep V with a bass deck and fits 4 comfortablity. While out on Tawakoni a storm came through thank God for the V Hull.. The boat took it like a champ, although it was scarey at times.. we all made it back safe. If you are thinking about this boat.. I would suggest upgrading the trolling motor to at least 75lb/24 volt to take on the wind on a windy day.. http://www.trackerboats.com/boat/?boat=3000

I have fished from the Lund and other aluminum boats they do alright in the wind and waves .To be safe and dry always buy the largest and heavest boat you can.So you want be worried when the storm blows up.I like the bass boat you can reach in and get your gear without having to climb inside .Most aliumnum really dont have much fishing deck just settin room.Small storage .And will get you wet when the waves are high.I have had them all a 21 ft will span the waves and make a safe and dry ride.I have a 21 ft bass cat and have been in some bad stuff it carries you home safe and sound. If I couldnt afford a boat like this I would just work some overtime till I could you cant put a price on piece of mind and a safe day on the water. I think that all comes down to what you want most out of your boat. The Lund style boats are very comfortable to fish from and if you have over 3 people in the boat it does have more room. It also could be better if you anchor up in rough water. I personally use a 19' Champion bass boat. I think that a bass boat is much better to control with a trolling motor no matter what type structure you fish. The low profile does not catch much wind at all unlike the deep V or CC boats which really helps on boat control. You do have to remember that their are big differances in bass boats when it comes to taking rough water. The Champion and Bass Cat has a deep V bottom which makes them much better riding and drier than many others.
I will be going back with another Champion on my next boat.

I agree with topspin I have the same boat and up graded to the 24v trolling system. I would also go with larger motor 115 or 150 not the 90 that it comes with.
