Will be on the brazos this weekend and am wondering how good the fishing is. We will be south of Glenrose and I was wondering is it even worth taking a rod or is this just a scenic float? and if a rod is to be taken, what lure/bait would you use?

I went today, used Rhodes to shuttle me. Did a personal best a far as fish cpr. Had to drag the yak north of the Low water bridge (Glen Rose area) after that it was all good. All fish(5 total) caught after the rocky ripple areas. The wind was blowing hard from the south, fought it for 7 miles. Good luck and have fun.

Too shallow? This time of year, a river float in Texas can be a lot of work. Shallow water, headwinds and heat are a tough combination, especially for old farts like me.

Too many people, being rushed. There were spots that did look good as far as cover, depth, shade, etc. go. Might have to go on my own or with a buddy at some point. Would actually like to hit right above Whitney or right below PK.
