Started fishing a few weeks ago and caught my first bass! Got him on a rooster tail. He is headed for the pan. Thanks to the forum for a easy and quick way to learn through posts. Jason

Nice crappie! Not a bass. She will taste better than a bass though.

uh, you better learn what you are catching because if you have the wrong size fish in possession it could get costly. Congrats on the first crappie though

No problem on not being familiar with the different species of fish. Most newbies are just glad to be catching fish at all! Check out the following link to the Texas Parks and Wildlife website... it will give you a good intro to the freshwater species that our Texas waters offer. Nice crappie! http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/landwater/water/aquaticspecies/inland.phtml

Rooster tail?? That bait does not catch fish at the Vine....LOL! I have every color made I think and have caught some really nice Crappie on them this year. If you want to catch your first bass then let me know and I can probably put in you in the right place but you have to come to Grapevine....let me know!
Life can be best understood looking back, but it can only be lived looking forward !

They are right, that fish will taste much better than a bass any day! Good work.
