I went out last summer off of Port A, we went out about 50 miles and this guy put us on the fish big time. However we were in a bay boat that was about 25 ft with a center console. It was right after the hurricane and the seas were terrible, I was realy not sure if we were going to make it back in. The guide said that this was the roughest he had ever seen it. The boat was a bit to small to be that far out. there was 4 of us on the boat and it was crowded. This guy also fishes texoma with the same boat in the winters. He drives a white 1 ton dodge with a custom camper on the back that he lives out of. I remember him having a 254 area code phone number but can not remeber his name to save my life. If anyone knows who I am talking about let me know, I would like to hook back up with this guy!

I know who you are talking about but I cant remember his name. I do recall he primarily fished out of Port OConnor. He had a 25 foot Cobia the last time I saw him. He has or did have cabins on Texoma for his clients to rent. You might want to ask one of the guides on http://www.sixoldgeezers.com/, they might know him.

I saw that boat and truck up here at Texoma this weekend. Not sure who it is but if you went out 50 miles in that single engine boat you are all crazy smile

That's why one of my best fishing partners is a really good boat mechanic smile

Yea,the fishing trip was booked by a friend! we had just heard that he would put you on the fish. We arrived at port a about 5:30 that morning and it was dark and seen the boat that we were going out on and thought oh #$&%! It was a single engine and we went out 60 miles. The seas got so rough coming in that it ripped the canopy off of the console and knocked out both radios on the boat. There wasnt a dry stitch of clothing on none of us! Thank goodness we had been drinking, however the captain drank about twice as much! Im just trying to figure out what this guys name is so I will know for the next trip out. I will make sure he has a different boat or the seas are calm!

Barnes guides Texoma, the river, and the coast in the summer. Maybe he can help you?
