Rating: 2 stars out of 5

Availability: pulic pond (fishing welcome)

Fishes; TDPW stocked rainbow trout, blue catfish & channel catfish here. I've seen another fisherman catch bass, but I've never caught anything here. Others on the forum claim to have caught carp, but I have never seen carp here.

Where: Ken Good Park at Broadway in Carrollton

Description: This is a rather large double pond of 5 and 7 acres. It is very difficult to catch fish here because the pond is too big to cast into the middle of the pond. All the fish hang out near the lilly pads in the middle of the pond. You can see the disturbances in the water that these fish cause. I've lost plenty of lures to those lilly pads, but I've never caught anything here. Water clarity is medium. There is a small amount of minnows here. There are park benches, but no picnic tables nor barbecue grills.

1 of 5 stars

Readily available and accesible

The north pond is the only one I have fished, and the one most stocked. A few decent catfish in here but they are few and far between, mostly bullheads and LOTS of absolutely HUGE softshell turtles. They are a real nuisance. The fishing goes up to about 3.5 of 5 stars in the winter if they stock trout. They school up in the first cove rght off the street and can be caught on the usual arsenal of trout baits.

I have heard of good carp catches and seen some decent ones in there, but haven't pursued them at this local, since it is really far from me now that I moved to lewisville.

One pond has some good sized carp in it, the other is filled with small carp.

Those used to be decent when the water level was up before 190 went up.
