Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach

Outstanding Ripp! Very cool seeing young men focusing on catching fish... as opposed to a video screen.

Nice fish!
I'm not sure that first pic is a carp. Carp have 2 sets of barbels like you see in the other carp pics. You probably have another species on your hands, which is always cool! You might post that fish down in the rough fish section to get an id.

Nice batch of fish!
The very first one actually appears to be a River Carpsucker. A fish that despite it's name and appearance, is totally unrelated to the Common Carp.
Common Carp are in the Minnow Family, while River Carpsucker are in the Sucker Family.
River Carpsucker are actually a fairly rare fish around here, and they don't often get very big. So very cool catch!
Is that the Lewisville Lake Fishing Barge? If that is Lake Lewisville and I'm right about the species, you MAY have caught the lake record River Carpsucker.
