Going to Conroe for a few days and want to hit the lake. Never been there.

Any help would be great. Not looking for honey holes, just what works best, cranks, carolina rigs, big worms and maybe some general areas to target.......North-South, Rip Rap, Docks?

Thanks in advance.

Rick

Man I hear bulk heads early with cranks and fish your way out there are a tone of them on the lake. Plus there is a point on the South end just out from the light house thats pretty good lot's of rocks and a few brush piles. Then you can go to little lake and try there just a few things I over hear now and then may help good luck.

I went out with a guide last summer. He had us fish NOTHING but artificial worms. We fished the shoreline where ever there were weeds in the water. He'd tell us to actually cast onto the shore and pull back into the water. The 2nd strategy was to fish all the docks (and there are a lot of these!). We'd try to cast under the dock and always against a post.

A bulkhead (in this context) is a shoreline retaining wall. With all those shoreline properties, many parts of the lake have bulkheads.

Try shakyhead trick worm in the docks,c-rig on the brush, crankbait down the bulkheads..... There will be ski boats & jet fleas all over the lake use a 2oz lead weight for those who get to close (LOL)
good luck & let us know how you do

All I can tell you is to look for brush in 8-12 feet, and drag a watermelon worm of some sort. If you start catching dinks, you might as well move on. Hope that helps.
